Queen Elizabeth the second – a great leader

This week for writing we got to write a biography on a leader that made an impact. I chose to do queen Elizabeth the second because she made a huge impact on the world. Before we could write a biography we had to make a biography planning doc with facts about her life and her accomplishments. We worked on the planning doc for about two days. Then it was on to the actual biography doc. We took our information from our planning doc and added it in to our biography. Here is my biography link.

Do you know a leader that made an impact? have you wrote about them before?

Reading – Blogging challenge

This week in reading we have been learning about secret agents who helped in the war. We focused on two woman who were secret agents Nancy wake and Noor Inayat Khan. These two women worked tirelessly and saved many lives. They learnt Morse code and other communication skills. For our create we got to pick a woman to do a fact file on. I picked  Nancy wake because I think she is an inspiration and she saved thousands of lives. Something I learnt about was that Nancy ran away from home and went to live with her aunt. Here is my fact file:

Do you have a favorite secret agent ? Emilie

SLJ – Connecting with your whenua step it up

Today for the SLJ I did the nature collage. I’ve wanted to do this task for awhile but I am stuck at home with COVID and not feeling well at all and because today is the last day to upload I  thought I would do it in our backyard.
I didn’t think there were many interesting thing as we don’t have many flowers, just a lot of trees, and our veggies garden is overgrown but when I used the macro lens in my mums phone I actually found a lot of interesting things! I zoomed in on tiny flowers, interesting leaves, rocks, tree bark and lichen, seed pods, fruits, and even spider webs. Also my cats eye! We’ve got a lot of cicadas in our backyard at the moment but unfortunately I couldn’t find any close enough to photograph. The picture at the end is my view and here is a paragraph about the history:
I live in North New Brighton close to the beach in Otautahi and although I’ve lived on this property since I was born it’s the second house I’ve lived in. Our first house was badly damaged by the Christchurch earthquakes so it got bulldozed down and we built a new one! My dad took my twin sister Indi to Bottle Lake Forest for her nature walk (she doesn’t have COVID) so her paragraph and photos might be a bit more interesting but I did my best. Here is the link to see it in higher resolution too.

and my view

What is your favourite image in the collage?

SLJ – Cool characters kick start

Hi today I did the Cool characters kick start. You watched a video about nature art and a video about cartoon characters then you put them together. You got a piece of nature and glued it on something and then added arms and stuff to make it look human. Here are mine :

They are little characters from the forest. They are called Lewis and Lucy. They are leaf people. Emilie

Quality Blog post – Fun art step it up

Hi today I did the step it up task for fun art. For this task you had to watch a video and look at some examples. Then you had to get a photo of an animal or pet you have ( I did my pet cat Oscar ) and make it look human. you could use different tools to help you do this. Here is my photo of my cat and the link:

He is in a fancy restaurant waiting to be served.

This task was really fun to do and a creative project.

SLJ – One line artwork kick start

Hi today I did the one line artwork kick start task. For this task you had 2 videos to watch then you could start. I chose to to the face one line art. After you had finished your art you had to pick 3 solid colours to colour in the shapes. I chose the shapes because I wanted the face to look like a human face and I chose the colours because they are similar colours to a human face. Here is my art:

Have you done art like this ? if so when? Emilie

SLJ – Sea anemone Step it up.

Hi today I did the step it up task for Sea anemone. For this task you had to watch some videos and read some  articles  about sea anemone. Then you could choose to do a poster  digital or draw it. I chose to do it by hand. then when you were done you had to add 3 facts about anemone. Here is my poster:

if you cant read the facts here they are :

1. The anemone stings its prey with its tentacles.

2.There are 1,000 different types of anemone in the world.

3.The anemone doesn’t have a back bone so it can catch its prey easier.

My favorite thing to do in this task was to draw and colour in the sea anemone.

Have you seen a sea anemone before ? If so where did you see it ? I have not seen one of these yet.
